I’ve been shopping in this shop for the last 5 years minimum and it’s been great for the most part however it seams to be changing for the worst. I’ve had a few issues with with the service one being a staff member taking offence to me asking him to put the fish a half a salmon on the scales for the price rather then his guesstimate, resulting in a fish gut mysteriously ending up on the back of my arm! another customer told me not to take them on and that he was ovs having a bad day. I took that on board and continued to shop there. Now I would say the issue is that they more often then not they get my request of how to cut and clean the fish wrong. With the board above you would have thought it couldn’t go wrong however it dose and it’s so frustrating when you get home.
Now the Middle Ages white lady has gone (as miserable as she was) there seams to be no order and lots of chaos.
I wrote a review 4 years ago that was 5 starts and have had to edit it now.
Unfortunately it looks like the time has come for me to start looking for a new Fish mongers.
Whole salmon fish is cheap. The service is good. They are very kind to put ice in bag.
It’s the second purchase I make in this place and for the second time the shellfish is absolutely rotten. Walked in, was served relatively quickly. The gentleman serving me packed my order very quickly as if he knew what he was giving me. As soon as I got home and opened the back the smell is undeniable. It’s no longer sage to eat. The smell lingered in the house for the rest of the day. They sell fish, but not safe to eat fish.
